| Couple files class action lawsuit against Blue Cross
SOUTH FLORIDA -- When Logan Wealcatch of Plantation was 3 months old, doctors diagnosed him with a severe deformation of the skull called plagiocephaly. Specialists immediately outfitted the infant with a corrective helmet to realign his skull and prevent permanent facial deformities, along with hearing and vision problems. But when Logan's parents, Matthew and Alison Wealcatch, submitted the $2,000 bill to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Inc., they received a letter telling them that the helmet was a cosmetic accessory and would not be covered. Now, the Wealcatches are suing the insurance company on behalf of their son, as well as the families of other children suffering from plagiocephaly, a condition that affects one in 10 newborns in the United States, according to the Journal of Craniofacial Surgery.

For Nikunj Mallik (23, name changed), a job at the Chicago head office of a leading management consultancy firm was a dream come true. But an embarrassment dampened his spirits: the womanly breasts he had since he was 16. So, a few months before he emigrated, he went to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for breast-reduction surgery."Because of the enlarged breasts, the man was too embarrassed to go swimming, gymming or even wear T-shirts," says plastic surgeon SSSaha, who has performed many such surgeries. These days, there is one man for every two women desperate for breast reduction. "About 30 per cent of young men have the problem of enlarged mammary glands, or gynaecomastia," says cosmetic surgeon Vivek Kumar. "But it's only now that an increasing number of them are turning up for breast-reduction surgery," he adds.

What ever happened to the New Yorker as hard-bitten, arrogant, looker-out-for-No. 1? Last month, a guy risked his life saving a man who'd fallen on subway tracks. Now we have cab driver Osman Chowdhury, who found 31 diamond rings inside a suitcase left in his cab. He spent hours tracking down the woman, who turned out to be, not a person with a serious commitment problem, but a jeweler from Dallas. This despite the fact, that the woman had given him a $20 bill for a $10.70 fare and asked for $9 change. That's a 30-cent (3 percent) tip, folks, proving that not everything Texan is big. The woman, for obvious reasons, preferred to remain anonymous and may well be getting a facelift. She did thank the man with a $100 reward. Mr. Chowdhury, a Bangladeshi immigrant who works 12 hours a day, seven days a week, declined at first, but later accepted it to cover fares lost while he tracked down Ms.
