Chinese woman gets cosmetic surgery to look older

A 60-year-old Chinese woman called Chen, who looks younger in the wake of a series of cosmetic surgery procedures, returned to the hospital this week in Hankou, Hubei, to ask doctors to restore her original old appearance.

Chen’s husband, surnamed Zhang, strongly opposed the cosmetic surgery and refused to talk to her for three days. Zhang wouldn’t even let her leave home after the surgery.

Zhang is said to be worried that Chen would fall in love with someone else, as many local old men have begun inviting her to dance since the operations. To save her marriage, Chen had to concede.

Just goes to show that some people are never satisfied.

Washington-Canada 'express lane' in the works

While national security is making international travel slower and slower, Washington state and Canada are working out a plan to create a virtual "express lane" across their shared border.

A bill moving through Washington's Legislature would allow state residents to get enhanced driver's licenses that would work the same as a passport.

So far, Washington is the only state considering such a setup, but other states are watching to see how the program shakes out to possibly adopt as their own as concerns grow about U.S. plans to require a passport for border crossings starting next year.

A new federal rule went into effect this month requiring people to have a passport to travel by air to and from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean. The same requirement is expected to go into effect Jan.

Names in News

Chris Killion, an emergency room doctor at Akron Children's Hospital, will be in the hot seat on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire tonight and Friday. The show airs locally on WOIO (Channel 19) at 7 p.m.

Killion, 31, took his wife, Angela, a pediatrician, to the taping. He has said that if he won big, he would pay off his school loans, save for a house and take a vacation in Hawaii or Europe.

News for the nosy

Yes, Jennifer Aniston got a nose job -- just not the kind of nose job you'd think an actress might get.

``It's funny. I had (a deviated septum) fixed -- best thing I ever did,'' she says in an interview posted Wednesday on People magazine's Web site. ``I slept like a baby for the first time in years. As far as all the other (rumors), as boring as it sounds, it's still mine.
