| Doctors' warning as liposuction ops rise by 90%
The number of people turning to liposuction in an attempt to lose weight has risen by 90% in one year - prompting experts to warn it is not a solution for obesity. The operation, in which fat cells are sucked from under the skin, has jumped from the eighth most popular cosmetic procedure in 2005 to third in 2006, behind breast and eyelid surgery. According to figures released today by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), 3,986 liposuctions were carried out last year, compared with 2,099 in 2005. The study also found that anti-ageing procedures are becoming more popular, with facelifts up 44% on the previous year, eyelid surgery up 48%, and brow lifts up 50%. .

High Wycombe facelift revealed
HIGH Wycombe's future for the next 20 years has been revealed in a set of plans that intend to give the town a complete facelift. Wycombe District Council, (WDC) which will discuss the plan at a full cabinet meeting on Monday, wants to update the town to bring it in line with the Eden development and make use of derelict factory sites. Rural areas including Stokenchurch, Bourne End and Saunderton are also named as key sites for change within the Wycombe Development Framework (WDF), but councillors are keen to protect green belt land. WDC has been told by the Government that it has to build 330 new homes every year for the next 20 years, and hopes to do this by using brownfield sites. However Hugh McCarthy, cabinet member for planning and sustainability at the district council, warned that this figure could go up.
Eye Don't Know
If you've ever noticed there's something not quite right with Paris Hilton's eyes, you're not alone! And it seems there might be a medical reason for it. A source told reporters that the socialite visited a plastic surgeon with her sister Nicky last week to get her droopy lid fixed. Apparently, Paris had secret surgery six years ago to lift her lids but the muscles in her left eyelid were damaged during surgery, which resulted in droopiness. To make matters worse, Paris is wearing blue tinted contact lenses over her naturally brown eyes while filming new movie The Hottie and the Nottie, which is making the problem even worse. Her PR Elliot Mintz says; "To the best of my knowledge, Paris has never had any kind of cosmetic surgery." Has she or hasn't she? You decide! [0 comments] .
